This Thursday (Nov. 5), Pitt's Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies program hosts Dr. Lucas Gottzén from Stockholm University in Sweden.
Professor Gottzén will discuss his research on how domestic violence, space, and emotion interact. "Gottzén demonstrates how atmospheres of safety and fear may coalesce around and within certain places, but also how atmospheres alter and are experienced differently by perpetrators and victims of violence."
"An undergraduate colloquium will be held with Prof. Gottzén, from 11:00-12:15, on the topic: "Displaying Shame: Masculinity and Responses to Men’s Violence against Women." Email Prof. Todd Reeser [[email protected]] to register and to receive a copy of the reading."
